In a letter to the D.E.A., Senator Orrin Hatch (R-Utah, the most senior Republican senator and chair of the Senate Finance Committee), requested the ban be on Kratom’s alkaloids be postponed, quoting “The use of this emergency authority for a natural substance is unprecedented, so it is important to determine whether the circumstances here necessitate a jump to Schedule I.”
Thanks to this letter and the bipartisan support, we believe that Kratom will stay legal and hopefully will be studied further and approved for human consumption by both the D.E.A and F.D.A.
