The Moringa tree is native to Asia and Africa. It has a bitter flavor, but is protein dense.
The leaves, seed pods, seeds, oils, flowers and roots are edible and protein and nutrient dense. They have been used to stave off starvation in famineaffected areas for many years.
It grows well in a variety of climates including arid areas. Moringa is currently being studied as a staple crop for use in areas affected by drought caused by climate change.
